Soak in the words of these verses from Isaiah 54:9-10:
“”This exile is just like the days of Noah for me: I promised then that the waters of Noah would never again flood the earth. I’m promising now no more anger, no more dressing you down. For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, My love won’t walk away from you, my covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart.” The God who has compassion on you says so.”
What a promise to cling to during days of darkness, moments of pain, seasons of sorrow! What a promise to cling to during times of depression, feelings of despair, and strivings with God!
It is the God Who Has Compassion who declares everlasting love. It is that God who caresses us with His love songs. It is that God who sings over us and spins about wildly over us. It is the God who breathes Life that guarantees our peace.
Sometimes, we just have to walk through the fire first.
Not alone, mind you. No, we are never left alone, but sometimes we are asked to stand. “Stand firm, therefore, having your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace,” the Apostle Paul reminds us.
Sometimes we are asked to run. “Run with endurance the race that is set before you, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith,” we are exhorted by the writer of Hebrews.
Sometimes we are asked to sing. “Sing all you saints of the Lord,” the Psalmist David writes.
Sometimes we are asked to go. “Go therefore and make disciples of every nation,” Matthew commands.
But, never alone. Never without the Presence of the Almighty. Never without His rod and His staff to lead us, His shoulders to carry us, and His wounds to forgive us.
Never without the promise of Hope.
Be brave today, Beloved. I love you and miss you.
Your Crazy Girl,
